Decorative Films guide

Everything to know about decorative films in the GTA.

What is decorative window film?

Decorative window film transforms plain glass with frosted, etched, patterned, gradient or custom-printed finishes. It adds privacy and style to bathrooms, entryways, offices, boardrooms and storefronts, while still letting natural light through — and it’s installed in hours or days, with no construction or replacement glass.

Frosted window film for privacy

Frosted window film recreates the look of sandblasted or etched glass. Light comes through softly diffused, but shapes and faces don’t — from either side, day or night. That makes it the go-to privacy window film for bathroom windows, front-door sidelights, basement windows and ground-floor rooms facing the street.

Privacy window film for homes

  • Bathroom windows — full frosted privacy with soft natural light, no blinds needed.
  • Front doors and sidelights — stop passers-by seeing straight into your hallway.
  • Basement and ground-floor windows — privacy for rooms close to the street or neighbours.
  • Glass cabinet doors and interior partitions — a softer, more finished look.
  • Street-facing living rooms — frosted bands or gradients that keep the top of the window clear for daylight.

Office glass frosting and partition film

Glass-walled offices and boardrooms look great but can feel like fishbowls. Office window film and partition frosting add privacy for meetings while keeping the open, bright feel of glass. Frosted bands at eye level are a popular, cost-effective option, and they also make large glass walls more visible so people don’t walk into them. See commercial window film in Toronto.

Custom logos, patterns and branded glass

Turn glass into branding with custom-cut logos, lettering, stripes and patterns. Decorative film is a fast way to brand reception areas, meeting rooms and storefront windows, and it’s easy to update when your branding changes.

Daytime privacy and one-way options

If you want a clear view out during the day, reflective one-way films give daytime privacy — but at night, with lights on inside, the effect reverses. Frosted film is the only film option that gives privacy around the clock. Our privacy and security film guide compares every option.

Frosted window film vs. frosted glass

Frosted glass film gives the look of etched or sandblasted glass at a fraction of the cost of replacing the pane. It’s installed on your existing glass in hours rather than weeks, it can be removed or changed later, and safety-film versions also help hold glass together if it breaks. Genuinely etched glass is permanent — great if you never want to change it, but far more disruptive to install.

Removable and low-disruption

Decorative films can be professionally removed later without damaging the glass, which makes them ideal for leased offices, rentals and spaces you may redesign. Many decorative films also add glare and UV reduction. Always check with your landlord or condo corporation before installing.

From design to installation

We measure the glass, help you choose a finish or develop a custom design, and install with minimal disruption — residential jobs are usually completed in a single visit. Our window films are backed by a lifetime residential and 10-year commercial warranty. Pricing depends on the area and the design; see our window film cost guide for typical ranges.

Common questions

Decorative Films — your questions answered.

Prefer to talk it through? Call (647) 921-4383 — we’re happy to help.

How much does frosted or privacy window film cost?

Frosted and privacy film is priced by the square foot of glass, and custom-cut designs are priced by the design. Send approximate measurements for a free, itemised quote.

Does frosted window film block light?

Very little. Frosted film diffuses daylight rather than blocking it, so rooms stay bright while the view through the glass is obscured.

Can people see through frosted film at night?

No. Frosted film obscures the view in both directions around the clock, unlike reflective one-way film.

Can decorative window film be removed?

Yes. It can be professionally removed and the adhesive cleaned off, which makes it a good choice for leased offices and rentals.

Can you make a custom logo or pattern?

Yes — we offer custom-cut logos, lettering, bands, gradients and patterns for offices, retail and homes.

Is frosted film good for bathroom windows?

It’s one of the most popular uses — full privacy with soft natural light, and no need to replace the glass.

Do you install decorative and privacy film across the GTA?

Yes — we install frosted, decorative and privacy window film in Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Oakville and across the GTA. Call (647) 921-4383 for a free quote.
